A closer look
WQO-WH-01 · Salt-Free Whole House Conditioner
Scale protection for the whole house. No salt, no electricity, no drain line.
The Cascade is installed where water enters your home, so every faucet, shower, and appliance receives treated water.
What it actually does
Two things. A slow-dissolving phosphate filter inhibits scale from forming as water moves through your plumbing — this protects pipes, water heaters, dishwashers, and washing machines from mineral buildup. And a carbon tank containing catalytic and coconut carbon removes chlorine, chloramines, and volatile organic compounds from all the water in the house.
A Clack valve manages the system. It requires no salt, no electrical connection, and produces no brine discharge.
Who this is right for
Homes with moderate hardness where the main concern is protecting plumbing and appliances. Households that don't want to buy and carry salt bags, or that can't accommodate a drain line for brine discharge. Anyone concerned about sodium being added to their water, or about the environmental impact of brine.
Who this is not right for
This is the important part, and it's where most salt-free marketing gets dishonest.
The Cascade does not soften your water. It prevents scale from forming, but the hardness minerals are still in the water. You will not get the "slippery" feel of softened water in the shower. Soap will not lather more. If your complaint is dry skin and hair after bathing, or spots on glassware, this system will not solve it — the Terrain will.
Salt-free conditioning and salt-based softening are different technologies solving overlapping but distinct problems. Any company telling you a salt-free system "softens" your water is not being straight with you.
A straightforward recommendation
The right system is not the most expensive one.
It's the one that solves your home's actual water problem.
Every home has different pipes, different water, and different needs. We don't know yours yet — which is why we don't quote a system over the phone or push a product on a webpage.
What the consultation actually is
A WQO specialist comes to your home at a time you choose. They test your water and look at your plumbing, your fixtures, and your appliances. They explain what they find in plain language — what's in your water, what it's doing, and what it isn't doing.
Then they tell you which system fits, or whether you need one at all.
What it isn't
There's no obligation to buy, no pressure on the visit, and no follow-up sales calls unless you ask for them. If we recommend nothing, that's a legitimate outcome, and it happens.
